Automotive Sales Apprenticeship - Spare Parts Interpreter

Position Reports to: Spare Parts Manager

Position Objectives

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through quality workmanship

  • Ensure a safe and friendly working environment for all employees

  • Liaise with the Workshop, Paintshop, and Sales departments to meet customer deadlines

Duties

  • Maintain a good attitude and take personal pride in appearance

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of job responsibility

  • Ensure the company receives full value for stock purchased

  • Obtain competitive bids for non-stock parts and only purchase supplies when necessary

  • Analyse and eliminate wasteful practices involving supplies, resources, utilities, or time

  • Follow efficient invoicing, costing, and discount procedures

  • Actively solve problems rather than work around them

  • Maximise use of existing floor space and facilities

  • Eliminate poor housekeeping practices, underperformance, and defective equipment within the Parts Department

  • Ensure proper stock rotation (last in – last out)

  • Convey information clearly in the workplace and maintain vehicle and customer records

  • Communicate with customers as required

  • Work collaboratively with other Spare Parts Interpreters to meet delivery deadlines

  • Assist other employees with their duties when needed

  • Perform other reasonable tasks as required

Apprenticeship Training (if applicable)

  • Complete all training modules and assessments by the due date

  • Ask questions and seek support where needed

  • Arrive on time to all training days and courses

  • Dress appropriately for all training activities

Health & Safety and PPE Requirements

  • Wear suitable clothing for your role at all times

  • Steel cap boots/shoes must be worn at all times

  • Familiarise yourself with Wagga Trucks’ Health & Safety policies and procedures

  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies at all times

  • Report all hazards and safety concerns immediately to the Health & Safety Coordinator

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment

Requirements

  • Current driver’s licence
